Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how wowLauncher (the mobile app and the desktop agent, together the “Service”) handles your information. wowLauncher is built so that your data stays on your own devices.
1. Information we do NOT collect
- No account registration — we never ask for your name, email, or phone number.
- No advertising identifiers, no behavioral analytics, no tracking.
- No contents of your files, screens, or camera images are collected or uploaded.
- Your app usage (what you launch, when) never leaves your own devices.
2. Data stored locally on your devices
The Service stores the following data only on your own devices, in local databases. It is never transmitted to the developer:
- On your PC (desktop agent): the list of programs you registered (name, executable path, arguments, icon), paired device records (device name and a SHA-256 hash of the access token), launch logs (which registered app was launched, when, and whether it succeeded), and settings.
- On your phone (mobile app): the list of PCs you paired with (PC name, LAN address, access token) and your language preference.
Communication happens directly between your phone and your PC over your local network (LAN). Nothing is routed through external servers.
3. Device permissions
- Camera (mobile): used only to scan the pairing QR code shown on your PC. Images are processed on-device and are never stored or uploaded.
- Local network (mobile): used only to connect to your own desktop agent on the same Wi-Fi network.
4. Crash and error reports (optional)
Official builds may include error reporting to help us fix bugs. When an unexpected error occurs, a technical report (error message, stack trace, app version, operating system version) may be sent to an error-tracking server operated by the developer (GlitchTip, a self-hosted Sentry-compatible service). These reports are used solely for diagnosing and fixing defects. They are not intended to contain personal information, are not shared with third parties, and are deleted when no longer needed.
5. Third parties
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. The Service contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Downloads are distributed via the App Store, Google Play, and GitHub Releases, which are governed by their own privacy policies.
6. Data retention and deletion
Because all data is stored locally, you are in full control:
- Remove a paired device or a registered app at any time in the desktop agent; the corresponding records and token hashes are deleted.
- Delete a paired PC in the mobile app to remove its token from your phone.
- Uninstalling either app removes its local database from that device.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated effective date.
